After some time of no activity, some new links have been created. Some months of neglect had seen our once city-wide network of over 17 nodes break down into a collection of disjointed links and nodes, with no routing going on. There has even been an abandonment of the 10.169.x.x IP allocation with many links reverting to 192.168.x.x or 10.0.0.x.
This weekend sees the reinstatement of several major links, including a 6.1km one between Wildfire and ZJI nodes. This is from Mt Lofty to near the Japanese Gardens and was getting 200kB/sec transfer without any tweaking (Wildfire's owner was not home at the time so he couldn't tweak). Work is underway to get the Eric node back up.

ZJI and thingzor nodes both had to move, it has only taken us six months to get them back going again.

Convent now has a time frame of around a month before it starts coming online, Hubert is active again and connected to Rkane, while Zaphire sits at the ready to be connected up when Convent comes online. This will form a backbone open to those in the two valleys these nodes cover; there will also be work done to directly connect other areas of Toowoomba via Convent. Though it should be noted that the Zaphire - Convent - Hubert backbone will be independent of DDWireless meaning it will be funded and maintained without any say of the members while respecting all interconnection standards and policies listed by the group assuming they do not conflict. This goes for any other nodes controlled by this backbone, it is provided as is. Donations of money, time, and equipment (or equipment at lowered cost) will speed up this connectivity.

BTW I was trying to link thingy with HoodDad but I think thingy's antenna was pointing too high. Thingy's antenna did have a link with Wildfire before Aemaeth moved away from Toowoomba. (I have moved from Toowoomba but Thingys will remain while my fiance lives there)

Thingy's antenna has been taken down, intended to be used for another link somewhere else.
